What Is Email Spam and How Do We Help Stop It?

Let’s talk about email spam—those annoying messages you didn’t ask for, don’t want, and sometimes make you wonder “Why did I get this?”

What is Spam?

Imagine your inbox is your mailbox at home. You want letters from friends, family, and maybe even bills (okay, maybe not bills). But one day, your mailbox gets stuffed with flyers for weird products, fake prizes, or messages from people you’ve never heard of.

That’s spam—unwanted or junk email. Some spam is just annoying, but some can be dangerous, like emails trying to trick you into clicking bad links or giving away personal info.

How We Help Stop Spam

At HubSeek, we use special spam shields (like email bodyguards!) to block spam before it ever reaches your inbox. These filters look at things like:

  • Who sent the email (Is it a trusted source?)
  • What the subject and content say (Does it sound suspicious?)
  • Where it came from (Is the sender on a known spam list?)
  • How many times similar messages have been sent recently

If the email looks fishy, it gets stopped at the gate.

What If Good Emails Get Blocked?

Sometimes the filters can be a little too careful and block real messages by mistake. It’s like your bodyguard not letting your friend in because they wore a hoodie.

So if:

  • You’re expecting an email and it never shows up
  • You find something in your spam/junk folder that shouldn’t be there
  • A team member says they’re missing important messages

Let us know! We can help fix it.

What You Can Do:

  • Ask your email contacts to add you to their contacts or whitelist
  • Always check your Spam or Junk folder now and then
  • Tell your team to keep an eye out too—especially if they work in a shared inbox

We’ll keep doing our best to filter out the junk and let the good stuff through.
