How to Transfer Your Domain from GoDaddy to HubSeek

Transferring your domain from GoDaddy to HubSeek is straightforward, but requires some preparation time. Follow this guide to ensure a smooth transfer process.

Important: Allow 24-48 Hours for GoDaddy Processing

Before you can transfer your domain, you’ll need to prepare it in your GoDaddy account. GoDaddy often has delays in processing domain privacy and lock changes, so it’s best to start this process 1-2 days before you plan to complete the transfer.

Part 1: Preparing Your Domain in GoDaddy

Step 1: Log Into GoDaddy

Visit godaddy.com and log into your account.

Step 2: Navigate to Your Domain

Go to My Products > Domains, then click on the domain you want to transfer.

Step 3: Disable Privacy Protection and Unlock Your Domain

You’ll need to make two changes:

  • Toggle Domain Privacy or Privacy Protection to OFF
  • Toggle Domain Lock or Transfer Lock to OFF or Unlocked

Important: After making both changes, wait at least 24-48 hours before proceeding. GoDaddy often has delays in processing these changes, and the authorization code won’t work properly until both are fully disabled.

Step 4: Request Your Authorization Code

After waiting the appropriate time:

  • Look for Transfer Domain or Authorization Code in your domain settings
  • Click Get Authorization Code or Email my code
  • GoDaddy will email you the authorization code (you’ll need this for the next steps)

Troubleshooting Tip: If the transfer fails later, the privacy/lock may not have fully processed yet. Wait another 24 hours and try again.

Part 2: Completing the Transfer in HubSeek

Step 5: Log Into HubSeek

Visit clients.hubseek.com and log into your account.

Step 6: Navigate to Products & Services

Click on Products & Services in your client area.

Step 7: Place a New Order

Click Place New Order.

Step 8: Select Domain Names

Click on Domain Names (under Categories on the left side).

Step 9: Search for Your Domain

Type in your domain name and press Search.

Step 10: Choose Transfer Option

Click Transfer domain.

Step 11: Enter Your Authorization Code

Scroll down to the form. Most fields should be pre-filled. Enter the authorization code from GoDaddy in the EPP/AUTH CODE field, then click Add to Basket.

Step 12: Complete the Checkout

Complete the checkout process.

Step 13: Watch for Confirmation Emails

Monitor your email for messages from both HubSeek and GoDaddy. GoDaddy will send emails if they deny the transfer or if you need to approve it on their end.

How long does the transfer take? Once initiated, domain transfers typically complete within 5-7 days, though they can happen faster.

Will my website go down during the transfer? No, your website will remain online during the transfer process.
